List what you need, send one link, and people put their name next to what they'll bring or do. Nobody makes an account: not you, and not the twenty people in the group chat. They open the link, tap Sign up, type their name, and everyone sees it straight away.
Name your sheet and start adding items
How It Works
1. Add what you need. One line per thing: "Cupcakes", "Setup crew 8–10am", "Drive to the away game". Set how many people each one takes: three people can sign up for "Desserts", one for "Ice".
2. Share the link. Text it, email it, drop it in the group chat, or put the sheet on your website.
3. People sign up. They tap Sign up, type a name and, if they like, a note ("lemon bars, nut-free"). When every spot on an item is taken it shows Full. The top of the sheet keeps count: "11 of 18 spots filled".
What People Use It For
- Potlucks and holiday dinners: who's bringing what, so you don't end up with four bags of chips and no main.
- Volunteer shifts: put the time in the item ("Sat 9–11am, gate") and set the spots to however many people the shift needs.
- Class parties and school events: plates, juice boxes, a craft, two chaperones.
- Team snacks and carpools: one line per game or per drive.
- Meal trains: one line per evening for a family with a new baby or a hard month.
- Moving day, bake sales, office parties: anything where you need several people to each take a piece.
What It Doesn't Do
No reminders, no emails, no calendar invites. People put their name down and nothing is sent anywhere. If reminders matter, send one message to the group chat the day before with the link. There's no time-slot grid either: write the time into the item instead.
Anyone with the link can sign up, add items or remove items, the same as any list on this site. That's what makes it quick for everyone, and it's also why you shouldn't ask for phone numbers or addresses on it. People can remove their own sign-up, and the person who made the sheet can remove anyone's.
Put the Sheet on Your Website
Every list has a Put this list on a website link under it. It gives you a short piece of embed code to paste into the Embed or HTML block on a wedding site, class page, or church or club site. Visitors sign up right there on your page, and it stays in sync with the link you shared.
Ready-Made Sign-Up Sheets
- Sign-up sheet: blank, for anything (volunteer shifts, class party supplies, carpools)
- Potluck sign-up sheet: mains, sides, desserts, drinks, with room for several people on each
- Thanksgiving potluck sign-up sheet: the classic dishes, turkey to pie
- Christmas list: a gift list where buyers claim presents and the person it's for can't see who claimed what
Questions
Do people need an account to sign up?
No. Nobody needs an account or an email address: not the person who makes the sheet, and not the people who sign up. They open the link, tap Sign up and type their name.
Can more than one person sign up for the same thing?
Yes. Each item has a number of spots. "Desserts" can take three people while "Ice" takes one. When every spot is taken the item shows Full. On the sheet, tap the "0 of 1" under an item to change its spots.
Can someone remove my name?
People see a remove button only on sign-ups they made themselves. The person who made the sheet can remove any sign-up. Like everything on this site, the link is the permission, so share it with the group it's for.
Can I turn a list I already made into a sign-up sheet?
Yes. Open a list you made on this device and use the List type switch under it to change between Checklist and Sign-up sheet. Names already signed up are kept if you switch back and forth.
Does it send reminders?
No. It doesn't send anything to anyone. That is also why nobody has to hand over an email address.
